These terms cover your use of the Handicraft app and website, run by Seb Kay. By using Handicraft, you agree to these terms. If you have a question, use our contact form.
Using Handicraft
Handicraft helps you organise DIY projects, steps, materials, shopping lists, costs, progress, and photos. You can write your own plans or request an AI-assisted starting plan. You are responsible for checking and adapting the information to your project.
Your account
Give us accurate account details and keep your login secure. Let us know if you think someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for the content you add and for having permission to upload information or photos involving other people.
Plans, payments, and cancellation
Handicraft offers free and paid plans. The price, billing period, features, and limits are shown before you subscribe. Stripe handles payments. Paid subscriptions renew each billing period until cancelled.
You can cancel from the app's billing page. For an active paid subscription, cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Contact us if you need help with cancellation or want to request a refund. Any cancellation or refund rights you have under the law still apply.
AI plans and DIY safety
AI-generated plans can contain errors, miss steps, or suggest unsuitable materials. Treat them as a starting point and check measurements, quantities, costs, and methods before buying supplies or starting work. Prices and totals recorded in Handicraft depend on the information you enter and are not supplier quotes.
Handicraft's plans, guides, and downloadable resources are general planning aids. They do not replace professional advice, tool instructions, safety checks, or building regulations. Use suitable protective equipment and get qualified help for work that needs it, including electrical, gas, and structural work.
You remain responsible for deciding whether a project is safe and within your skills, obtaining any required permissions, choosing suppliers, making purchases, and checking the finished work.
Your content and shared projects
You keep ownership of the content you add. You allow us to store, process, and display it so Handicraft can provide the features you use, including sending a project prompt to our AI provider when you request a plan.
Each project has a public page that can be viewed without an account. Anyone who has or finds its link can see its description, steps, progress, and photos, and can forward the link. Check this content before sharing it and avoid adding private or sensitive information.
Acceptable use
Do not upload illegal or abusive content, infringe other people's rights, attempt to enter another person's account, bypass account or plan limits, or disrupt Handicraft. Do not use the service to spread malicious software, send spam, or endanger others.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep Handicraft available and useful, but maintenance, updates, and faults may interrupt access. Features may change over time. Keep your own copies of information or photos that you need for your project.
We may revise these terms as the service changes and will update the date above. Where a change materially affects your paid service, we will give you appropriate notice. Your legal rights still apply.
Responsibility and liability
Handicraft helps with planning; it does not carry out the work, supply materials, or guarantee a particular project result. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information you enter, unsafe work, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These terms do not exclude responsibility for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other responsibility that cannot legally be excluded. They do not limit your rights as a consumer.
Ending your account
You can stop using Handicraft, cancel a subscription, or contact us to request account deletion. We may suspend or close accounts that misuse the service or breach these terms. How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
