Handicraft helps you plan and finish DIY projects. This policy covers the Handicraft app and website. Handicraft is run by Seb Kay, who is responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us through our contact form.

Stripe processes paid subscriptions. Handicraft stores billing references, subscription status, and limited payment information, such as card type and last four digits. We do not store full card numbers.
How we use information
We use your details to manage your account, save and display projects, generate plans you request, process billing, send account messages and project reminders, and answer enquiries. We also use technical information and usage events to investigate errors, prevent misuse, and improve Handicraft.
We use information needed to provide the service under our agreement with you. Our legitimate interests include keeping Handicraft secure, reliable, and useful, and responding to enquiries. We also keep records where the law requires it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it by contacting us.
You need to provide an email address and login details to create an account. Project content is your choice; an AI-assisted plan needs a project prompt.
AI-assisted project plans
When you request an AI-assisted plan, we send the project prompt you enter to OpenAI so it can suggest a project description, steps, and materials. The resulting plan is saved to your account. Avoid including passwords, payment details, sensitive personal information, or information about other people in your prompt.
Public project pages
Each project has a public page. Anyone who has or finds its link can view the project description, steps, progress, and photos without logging in. A link you share can be forwarded to others. Do not add private information or photos you do not want people to see to this public project content.
Service providers
We use providers for hosting, file storage, payments, email, analytics, security checks, and AI planning. These include Stripe for payments, OpenAI for AI plans, Fathom for analytics, and Cloudflare for the website and contact form security. Your enquiry is delivered to our support inbox so we can reply.
Providers receive the information needed for their part of the service. Some may process information outside the UK. You can contact us for details about the providers handling your information and the safeguards that apply to international transfers. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and website services
The app uses cookies for login sessions and security. Blocking these cookies may prevent you from signing in. We use Fathom to measure visits and product activity without analytics cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile checks contact form submissions for abuse, and our pages load fonts from Google Fonts; these services receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep account and project information while you use Handicraft. You can edit or delete projects in the app and contact us to request account deletion. Support messages, billing records, logs, and backup copies may remain for as long as needed to resolve enquiries, restore the service, meet legal obligations, or handle disputes. How long we keep a record depends on its purpose and those requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can update your account and project details in the app. You can also contact us to request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, a portable copy, or limits on how we use it, where these rights apply.
You have the right to object to uses based on our legitimate interests. Contact us to make an objection or withdraw consent. If you have a privacy complaint, you can also contact the UK's Information Commissioner's Office.
Contact and changes
For privacy questions or requests, use our contact form. We will update the date above when this policy changes. Our Terms of Service explain the rules for using Handicraft.
